Food Tasting at Alfresco

The Italian guests and their Nepali friends assembled in one of the city's oldest Italian restaurants, Al Fresco, at the Crowne Plaza Kathmandu – Soaltee Hotel. Leading the group was Gianantonio Candiani and Fiore Brofferio, joined by Sylvia Darteni and Federica Poletti – this quartet of cognoscenti were joined by Gopal Gurung and Rishi Jha. The 'Smoked Prawn Salad' and the 'Feta cheese and tempered spinach stuffed Kavala Chicken were the highlights of the evening. Family recipes and the goodness of Italian ingredients dominated the conversations making the evening rather insightful about what the Italians cherish about their "magnifico" cuisine.
